Book Launch in November Butterflies: Volume Two

On October 4th it will be one year since my first book, Volcanoes was launched. That launch was held in my hometown (city) of Melfort, Saskatchewan. A day doesn’t go by when I don’t give thanks for Dr. Eben Alexander and Karen Newell’s keynote address & meditation workshop in conjunction with my book launch. They answered one of mankind’s all-consuming questions, Do God and Heaven Exist? They also shared their wealth of knowledge in the field of near-death experiences (NDE) and mindfulness meditation.

From October up until this spring I worked diligently along with many other writers to complete and publish the second book, Butterflies, in the series. At the beginning of August, I received a Book Excellence Award for Volcanoes, the first book in the series, Volcanoes, Butterflies & Jesus. This was an honour and came as a bit of a surprise. There were close to 300 entries in the field of Death and Dying literature and the books that were judged came from all across North American and Europe. It was an absolute privilege to be named as a finalist.

I have also taken a leap of faith to have the first book republished through Balboa Press, which is a division of Hay House Publishing. I feel the audience that Balboa connects with, will help give my book, Volcanoes, an even larger voice in the self-help field and on the literary stage.

Butterflies Launches on November 1st and 2nd

I am now preparing for my second book, Butterflies, book launch. I have included all the information below in the hopes that you will join me for this pivotal event in Melfort. I met Maureen Pisani at the Chopra Center in San Diego during a Ten-Day Perfect Health retreat last December. Maureen’s presentation there set me on a journey of an even deeper self-discovery. Maureen is a wealth of knowledge that all can learn from. She is professional, sincere and has a sense of humour that lights up any room she enters. I was overjoyed when she agreed to come and help me with my launch. Her wisdom will touch all who decide to attend either or both events. I hope you will consider joining us Friday or Saturday. Or even better, notice the special pricing for when you purchase both tickets together. Let’s make this an event that’ll be remember for years to come.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1: Keynote Address & Book Launch

7:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Hosted by: Shelley Zwingli, and featuring Hypnotherapist, Maureen Pisani

Kerry Vickar Centre: CJVR Performing Arts Theatre

Maureen Pisani is hosted by me, Shelley Zwingli. I’ll be launching my second book, Butterflies – Extraordinary Stories from Ordinary People in the series, Volcanoes, Butterflies & Jesus. This book shares stories from 17 people who have crossed paths with me in life. These people have shown true resilience as they faced extremely challenging events in their lives. We have much to learn from reading these narratives.

I’ve invited Maureen to give a presentation and workshop in the hope that people who may be coping with any of life’s overwhelming issues can find the power of resilience that lives within them. Maureen assures us that if we can change our minds, we can transform our lives.

Maureen is an author and motivational speaker who utilizes her experiences to highlight how each of us has hidden strengths within us. As a hypnotherapist, Maureen is at the Mastery Level in all 4 modalities – Hypnotherapy, Therapeutic Guided Imagery, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Reiki Energy work.  In addition, she is the only hypnotherapist who has been a director and instructor in two nationally accredited colleges and is also a trainer for NLP.  Because of her medical and scientific training and background, she is also the only hypnotherapist who is a co-author of a research paper issued by the Neuroscience Department at UCLA.  She is the resident hypnotherapist at the renowned Chopra Center in La Costa, San Diego County, CA.

Maureen has authored 9 books and produced more than 25 hypnotic CDs. She is the founder of Pro-Thrive Science-Based Hypnotherapy where she works with groups and individuals, in person or online, to help them go from just surviving to truly thriving.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2: Achieving & Sustaining Resilience Workshop

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Led by: Maureen Pisani

Kerry Vickar Centre: CJVR Performing Arts Theatre

Message from Maureen:

Each of us has been tossed head first into a ‘valley’ of life, where our heart was ripped out from our chest, the earth was pulled from underneath us, we were betrayed by the one we trusted the most, or someone we loved had the unthinkable happen to them. We ended up in the darkest of dark places, where we either stayed because it was simply too hard to extricate ourselves from its depth; or in spite of all odds, we clawed our way out.

The definition of resilience is ‘the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.’ Most of us have experienced life giving us its ‘1-2 punch’. Resilience, in my opinion, is the ability to claw our way out repeatedly, from whichever ‘valley’ we find ourselves in. Sustaining that level of resilience is the TRUE SUCCESS IN LIFE!

Maureen Pisani C.Ht., T.N.L.P., Motivational Speaker, Author & Hypnotherapist, will be leading the ‘Achieving & Sustaining Resilience Workshop’.  She will utilize the Emotional Freedom Technique (E.F.T.) and Hypnotherapy to walk us through the realizations of how bad those ‘valleys’ were, how much we have learned from them; how strong we truly are; and how capable we are to sustain this successful and triumphant style of living.

Mercy – Needed More Than Ever

2016 – The Year of Mercy

There is nothing that you can do that can’t be forgiven. These are the words that ring through my essence daily, they were written on my soul during my 44 hour spiritual awakening back in April 2013. The Divine Source that I have come to know very personally since that experience has changed the way I look at forgiveness and mercy.

A Butterfly Vision

Branelle and I hash over the details of my last vision. We both are still puzzled with this whole ordeal. I ask her if she feels up to me describing another vision, she agrees. I close my eyes once more and the black canvas in front of me starts to come to life. This time all the little sparkly white dots slowly form and old weathered wooden deck. This deck immediately reminds me of the deck we have down by the water at the lake. It too is a deck that is unfinished and is weathered from the elements. This vision is in black and white, similar to the horse vision. A little butterfly slowly enters the scene. It has a small body and delicate wings and is doing a slow dance just above the weathered deck surface. It lands on the deck and remains there for some time.

Excerpt #11 – Volcanoes, Butterflies & Jesus – Shelley Zwingli

(Continued from Excerpt #10)

6:10 am – April 4, 2013

I’m finding it difficult to sit in one spot for any length of time. My body feels very unsettled and on high alert. I’m noticing the sounds in the house are amplified. The sound of the compressor cutting in on the fridge has startled me, and it sounds much louder than before. I glance out my dining room window to the east. The sky brightens up and a new day is cresting on the horizon. As the sun slowly rises over the field, the colors of the sunrise turn into an artful masterpiece.

Excerpt Post #8 – Volcanoes, Butterflies & Jesus – Shelley Zwingli

(Continued from Excerpt #7)

I have never been so sad and felt so alone. I’m very thankful to have Trent and Branelle helping me through this ordeal but unfortunately they really don’t know what all has been taking place in my body, mind and soul. The truth is, I’m worried that if I share too much information with them they will give up on me. I keep praying for their understanding and wisdom. I need their support and help more than ever.

Summer 2012 – Heavenly Creatures (Part II)

(Continued from Summer 2012 – Heavenly Creatures)

The butterfly visits were how our summer began but that wasn’t how it ended. We had many visitors over the summer—butterflies, hummingbirds, rabbits and dragonflies. The more we believed in what we were witnessing, the more nature seemed to open up the heavenly gates to a silent conversation between us.

The summer of 2012 was also a summer that I vowed to become more active. Our winters in Canada are very long and chilly, so I needed to make the most out of the short summer season (July & August) that we have. I promised myself that I was going to go for a run through the cabins three to five days a week. Little did my husband Trent realize that I had also signed him up for the same activity; I will say, though, he was a good sport about it! I find it much easier to exercise when there’s a buddy alongside me. So, Trent and I would usually head out for our 30-minute run at about 9:00 a.m. every other morning.

The month of August was upon us and summer was quickly slipping by. Our final run was one we will both remember fondly. It was a sunny day and the temperature hadn’t broken 20 degrees Celsius yet. We headed north down the road in front of our cabin and then decided to take the quieter road behind the cabins that is usually less travelled but this morning was the exception.   As we left the view of the cabins behind there was an encounter over which I’m still in awe.

Dragonfly LandscapeNature has a way of showing us that heaven does sometimes come down to earth. As we ran down the back road we noticed the sun’s rays hitting the dewy leaves on the trees and adding a shimmer to the wet grass in the ditch. With every step Trent and I took, a host of dragonflies would lift up out of the wet grass. There were hundreds if not thousands of them. We kept running and they kept billowing up out of the lush vegetation. As I looked up ahead of us, I noticed the sunlight was also dancing off of their wings with an almost angelic aura. After about 30 seconds into this scene I glanced over at Trent and said, I’m pretty sure this is what heaven looks like. They kept rising from the grass and we kept running. It was breathtaking and oh, so holy.

This spiritual experience lasted a good 10 minutes on that quiet back road. If we would’ve remained on the path in front of the cabins that we normally took, we would have missed the whole heavenly show. God has a way of getting our attention, and the use of nature is definitely in the Creators goody bag. Taking the time to slow down and quiet our minds helps us incredibly when it comes to connecting with God and the spiritual world. There are all kinds of signs on our path, and when we quiet ourselves a new appreciation and awareness will be revealed.

I had shared the story about the dragonfly run with a couple of women from my hometown a while back. It’s through story sharing that we can connect spiritually with each other. When we allow ourselves to become vulnerable and we take risks, we move forward with spiritual growth. The sharing of an intimate experience with people you don’t know really well is sometimes dicey. Since my NDE, however, I’ve learned to take more chances with whom I share these divine encounters with; nothing ventured, nothing gained. When I take a look back to the day I shared the story with them none of us would have realized how impactful this story would become.

A couple months later, just shortly after my father passed away, I received a small package in the mail. Along with the sympathy card, the one woman sent me a beautiful dragonfly necklace. This loving gesture shows how the spirit within us is pure and unconditional; taking the time to connect with someone who mourns is worth more than we can imagine. This woman is not a close friend but an acquaintance, which still didn’t stop her from helping me in my time of sorrow.

My challenge to you is to reach out to people in need. Don’t just stay on the path that’s straight and easy; take a chance and head down that road less travelled and challenge yourself to go beyond your comfort zone. By stepping off the beaten path, we are giving our soul a chance to grow and flourish. We are on earth to grow spiritually and to help each other out. One of the ways we can grow and complete part of our life’s directive is to reach out to others in need.  Random acts of kindness can only have a positive effect on the world. We may not change the world by one act of kindness but by changing ourselves in a positive manner and reaching out to those in need we will be planting the same seed within them and in turn those loving gestures will multiply.

I know that heaven joined Trent and I on our run that morning; there is no way to deny it. It was a taste of the world to come. There is an awe-inspiring beauty that awaits our souls return, and we all have the option while we’re here to embrace it and share our love, unconditionally.

Ask, listen and be watchful
